We have an event for all kinds of interests. Our popular Cocktails and Conversations series focuses on relevant social and advocacy issues. Each event features expert panelists and a moderator in a casual setting meant for learning and networking. Currently, these events are being held virtually, so you can prepare your favorite cocktail or mocktail and enjoy the conversation from the comfort of your home!
Thousands of women have attended one or more of our workshops and reported an increased ability to address women’s issues within their community. Of the women who attended our “Run As You Are” workshops in 2017 & 2019, 18% ran for office in the subsequent election and 60% of those who ran won their legislative seat- we are anxious to see what will happen in the next election! Additional statistics show that another 30% committed to running for office in the next five years. 95% of those who have attended our salary negotiation classes indicated that they were likely to implement the ideas and concepts learned in the workshop. 75% of those attending our gender equity in the workplace workshop felt they learned something valuable through the program.
Our main fundraising event, Women Leading Change, has been unfortunately postponed until September 30 in the midst of the current health crisis. We are unsure at this time if the event will be held live in person or be done virtually. We continue to listen to what our local experts are saying and will adjust as necessary. We'll follow up with you as we know more!
Men are invited to join all of our events, and this year, we even have one just for you! 100 Men for Gender Equity is a virtual campaign where our male allies share why they believe gender equity makes for a better Rhode Island. We hope you'll join in the fun by creating and sharing a video. More information can be found here.
Thank you to all who continue to attend our events and to those of you who we have yet to meet, we're looking forward to seeing you at the next one.
