Feb. 4, from 6-7:30 pm – WFRI's Feminist Activist Book (FAB) Group will meet to discuss Toni Morrison's Beloved. Hailed as a modern classic and awarded the Pulitzer Prize, Beloved tells a story that the New York Times called a "hair-raiser." Part historical fiction focused on the years before and after the Civil War, part ghost story in the most haunting sense, and part feminist rendering of Sethe's incredible power. Sethe is the main character who will lead us through a most-memorable novel. FAB meetings are hybrid so, when you register, please indicate if you'll be joining in person or remotely. Feb. 19, from 6-8pm (tentative)- Preconceived screening: In partnership with the RI Abortion Fund, we are screening the film Preconceived. Where does someone turn when facing an unplanned pregnancy? Preconceived tells the stories of Maleeha and Maria, two women who, while navigating unplanned pregnancies, inadvertently found themselves at facilities discouraging them from abortions. The film is a window into these enigmatic centers that some call “pregnancy resource centers” and others call “fake clinics.” The film underscores the significance of understanding the resources available to pregnant people.

March 9 from 2-5 at Providence Public Library: Diva Empowerment Concert- Join us for an inspiring afternoon celebrating the power and resilience of women through song! WFRI's Diva Empowerment Concert will feature a vibrant lineup of local talent performing iconic songs of empowerment, unity, and strength. Let the music move you as we come together to inspire each other! If you haven't yet been to an event at the Providence Public Library, their space is going to blow you away! Your ticket price of $50 will cover the cost of admission, nibbles, and drinks, and will support the mission of Women's Fund of Rhode Island. "Here's to strong women!
