July 11 from 5-7pm at Rhode Island Spirits & Distillery in Pawtucket: Feminist Spirits! Running for office or looking to connect with someone who is? Candidates for election (especially women, those who identify as LGBTQ+, and people of color) and those interested in meeting them are invited to come hear about policy initiatives that support women and girls in RI. Aug 22 from 5:30-7:30pm (U.S. Rubber Lofts, Providence): Toast to Tenacity- Each year, WFRI commemorates the passing of the 19th amendment giving (some) women the right to vote and uses it as an opportunity to share what we are doing to close gender power gaps. This year, we will also be celebrating the kickoff of our 2024-25 Women’s Policy Institute, which teaches women to be grassroots advocacy leaders. Sept 18 from 5:30-7:30pm at Bally’s Twin River in Lincoln: Women Leading Change- This is WFRI’s premier fundraising event, bringing together business and community leaders, social activists, philanthropists, and anyone interested in leveling the playing field for women and girls in RI. This year’s honorees include:

  • Lisa Ranglin, RI Black Business Association, for the Susan Farmer Advocacy Award
  • Angela Bannerman Ankoma, RI Foundation, for the Simone Joyaux Leadership Award
  • Falvey Insurance for the Organizational Leadership Award
